Synopsis

Picking up right where Season 1 left off, Momo, Okarun, and Jiji travel to Jiji's family home in the remote Byakuya Village, hoping to finally lift the curse hanging over the property. What should be a straightforward exorcism quickly spirals out of control the moment they arrive.

The trio is confronted by the eerie Kito family, the village's unsettling landlords, and things only get worse from there — Momo narrowly avoids being abducted at the local hot spring, while Okarun and Jiji are cornered and interrogated. As the group digs deeper, they uncover a hidden, cursed room within the house and an ancient underground domain tied to the village's dark history.

With Jiji losing control to the vengeful Evil Eye threatening to consume him, Momo, and the entire village, the three of them are pushed to rely on their powers like never before, unraveling a much larger web of folklore and supernatural danger than they ever anticipated.

Our Thoughts / Our Verdict

Season 2 trades some of the fast-paced comedy chaos of the first season for a slower-burn horror mystery, and it's a change that pays off beautifully. The Kito family arc leans harder into genuine dread than anything in Season 1, without ever losing Dandadan's trademark absurd humor.

Jiji finally gets the spotlight he deserved, and his descent under the Evil Eye's influence gives the season some of its most tense, emotionally heavy moments yet. Science SARU's animation remains a standout, especially during the season's climactic confrontations, which somehow manage to top Season 1's already stellar action sequences.

If you loved the unpredictable blend of horror, comedy, and heart from Season 1, Season 2 doubles down on all of it while deepening the found-family dynamic between Momo, Okarun, and Jiji. Essential viewing for anyone already hooked on the series. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
