Synopsis
Two and a half years have passed since Naruto Uzumaki left the Hidden Leaf Village to train under the legendary Sannin, Jiraiya. He returns older, stronger, and more focused on his dream of becoming Hokage — but the world he left behind has changed just as much as he has.
The shadowy organization known as Akatsuki has stepped up its hunt for the tailed beasts sealed within nine chosen hosts, and Naruto himself is one of their targets. As old friends drift further apart and former allies turn into dangerous enemies, Naruto must grow beyond his old limits to protect the people and the village he cares about most.

Our Review
Naruto Shippuden earns its place as one of the defining shonen anime of its generation. The Pain arc, Itachi's backstory, and Jiraiya's final battle stand among the most emotionally resonant moments the medium has produced, elevating a straightforward "ninja kid grows up" premise into a genuinely layered story about grief, forgiveness, and the cycle of hatred.
Studio Pierrot's canon episodes and movie tie-ins deliver excellent fight choreography and standout OST work from Yasuharu Takanashi, with openings and endings that remain iconic to this day. The honest caveat is the filler content: across 500 episodes, several long filler arcs noticeably slow the pacing and dip in animation quality compared to the manga-adapted story episodes.
For newcomers, we'd recommend a filler-skip guide to get the tightest experience. But taken as a whole, Shippuden remains a must-watch for shonen fans, and its highs are genuinely among the best the genre has to offer. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
