Synopsis
Years before the story begins, a monstrous nine-tailed fox spirit rampaged across the Hidden Leaf Village, until the village's leader gave his own life to seal the beast inside a newborn baby. That child, Naruto Uzumaki, grows up carrying the fox's power within him, shunned and mocked by the very people he was born to protect.
Loud, mischievous, and starved for attention, Naruto channels his loneliness into an unshakable dream: to become Hokage, the strongest and most respected ninja in the village, so that everyone will finally have to acknowledge him. Alongside his teammates on Team 7, the brooding Sasuke Uchiha and the sharp-tongued Sakura Haruno, and under the guidance of his laid-back but formidable sensei Kakashi Hatake, Naruto takes his first steps as a genin.
Training missions soon give way to real danger, as ninja from rival villages, ancient rivalries, and the shadowy organization Akatsuki begin to close in. Through every fight and every failure, Naruto's refusal to give up starts to change the way the people around him see both him and the burden he carries.

Naruto's greatest strength is its story — the journey from a lonely, unwanted kid to someone the whole village looks up to still hits just as hard today. Its themes of found family, perseverance, and earning respect through effort instead of talent make it an easy stand-out even among modern shounen.
The animation shows its age in places given the show's early-2000s production, but the fight choreography, particularly in later arcs, still holds up remarkably well, and the character designs remain instantly iconic.
