Synopsis

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince is a comfortable, low-stakes isekai that leans hard into its main hook: a grown man's pure, uncomplicated love of magic, now reborn with the talent to actually chase it. Lloyd's genuine excitement over spellcraft, rather than a thirst for power or revenge, gives the show a lighter, more wholesome tone than a lot of its genre peers.
Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab's production is solid without being flashy, and the show is at its best in its quieter, more curious moments, like Lloyd geeking out over a new spell or puzzling through old magical theory. The mystery around Grim and the political undercurrents of the Saloum royal family give just enough plot to keep things moving between the slice-of-life beats.
