Synopsis

Maomao's story continues as she and Jinshi step beyond the walls of the imperial palace and into the bustling streets of the capital city, where a new set of mysteries — and new dangers — await. Jinshi steps into new responsibilities as an imperial prince, while signs of a coming national crisis begin to surface.

At the center of it all is the sudden appearance of a pale, enigmatic woman known only as the "immortal maiden," whose existence is tied to old legends and an unsettling truth. As always, Maomao's sharp mind and insatiable curiosity pull her straight into the heart of the mystery, even as the world around her grows more unpredictable than ever.
