Synopsis
Told through Kyotaro Ichikawa's own recollections, this feature-length film revisits the awkward, quietly tender road that turned a boy who once fantasized about murdering his classmates into someone hopelessly in love with the class idol, Anna Yamada.
Alongside reworked highlights from the show's first two years, new footage picks up after the TV series' finale: Kyotaro and Anna head out to watch his sister Kana perform live with her band, Primary COLOR.
What unfolds between the two of them that night pushes their relationship somewhere the series never got to show on screen.

As a clip show, this movie makes no apologies for what it is: it leans on the strongest, most emotionally loaded moments from the first two seasons rather than trying to reinvent them, and it largely earns the shortcuts because those moments were already the highlight of the franchise.
The new material is where it actually justifies a theatrical release. The concert sequence with Kana's band gives the film its own identity for roughly its final act, and the quiet exchange between Kyotaro and Anna that follows lands as a genuine, if understated, step forward for a couple whose whole appeal has always been how slowly and believably they move.
Newcomers can follow it, but it's built for people who already know Kyotaro and Anna. Because it folds in a real continuation rather than pure recap, it's rated on the same footing as the mainline seasons rather than judged as a separate, lesser work.
