Synopsis

Six months have passed since Miyu Suzuki and Yuusuke Tani, two classmates who couldn't be more different, started dating. Between hanging out with their friend group and simply getting used to being a couple, the two of them have never been happier — and now, with the year winding down, they're looking forward to spending Christmas and New Year's together and making memories that'll stick with them.

Their friends aren't sitting still either. Shuuji Taira, who still struggles to shake his old insecurities from middle school, finds himself thrown off balance as classmate Shino Azuma starts paying him more attention than he knows what to do with. Meanwhile, the usually loud and confident Kentarou Yamada can't seem to find the right moment to finally confess to his shy crush, Natsumi Nishi.

Same easygoing charm, same warm cast — just a little further down the road, as everyone figures out their own version of growing closer to someone.

Our Thoughts / Our Verdict

Heads up — this one's still airing as we write this, so take our thoughts here as a first impression rather than a final verdict! That said, Season 2 slides right back into everything that made the first season charming: Miyu and Tani are still adorable together, and the show keeps giving real spotlight time to Taira, Yamada, and the rest of the friend group instead of just coasting on the main couple.

The character redesigns have honestly split the fandom a bit — some viewers love that Leon... er, that everyone looks cleaner and closer to the manga art, while others miss a bit of Season 1's rougher charm, and a few episodes have had noticeably softer wide shots compared to the close-up work. Nothing dealbreaking, just a bit inconsistent so far.

Story-wise it's still doing what it does best — small, honest, everyday romance beats rather than big dramatic swings — and it's just as easy to fall for. We'll likely circle back with a fuller verdict once the season wraps, but so far, so sweet. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
