Synopsis

Nagi Umino and Erika Amano's lives were upended the moment they learned they'd been switched at birth — and made even stranger when it turned out Erika was already Nagi's arranged fiancée. Living together while sorting out their tangled family situation, the two slowly stopped pretending their feelings for each other were fake.

Season 2 picks up with Nagi and Erika's relationship having moved firmly past the "fake couple" stage, as they try to navigate an actual romance while still surrounded by meddling family members, old rivals, and Erika's own complicated feelings about her wealthy upbringing. Sachi, Hiro, and the rest of the found-family cast continue to blur the line between chosen and biological family.

With confessions, jealousy, and plenty of comedic misunderstandings along the way, this season keeps pushing Nagi and Erika's engagement — and their feelings for each other — a little closer to something real.

Our Thoughts / Our Verdict

Season 2 leans into the slow-burn romance side of the story more than the first season did, and honestly, it works. Nagi and Erika finally moving past the "fake couple" bit gives their scenes together a lot more warmth, and the found-family dynamic with Sachi and Hiro remains the show's biggest strength.

Okuruto Noboru keeps the visual presentation clean and consistent, even if it's not particularly flashy, and the comedy still lands more often than not thanks to a likable cast. The harem-adjacent side characters occasionally slow the momentum down, and the plot doesn't stray far from familiar rom-com beats.

It's a comfortable, sweet continuation for fans already invested in Nagi and Erika's relationship, even if it isn't reinventing the genre. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
