Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest Season 2
Anime Info
Synopsis
Fresh off rescuing his former classmates from the depths of a labyrinth, Hajime Nagumo resumes his real goal: clearing every labyrinth in Tortus to gather ancient magic and eventually find a way home. Kaori Shirasaki, newly reunited with him, joins Hajime, Yue, Shea, and Tio on the road.
Meanwhile, back in the kingdom, the "heroes" summoned from Earth have to reckon with their first real failure and start learning the hard way what it actually takes to survive Tortus. As new allies and enemies enter the picture, the looming demon army invasion pushes everyone toward a confrontation that will test how far Hajime is willing to go to protect the people closest to him.

Our Review
Season 2 keeps Hajime's labyrinth-clearing routine going and adds a few new faces, Liliana and Noint, into the mix, but it doesn't do much to shake up the formula that split opinion on Season 1 in the first place.
If you enjoyed the harem-heavy power fantasy of the first season, there's more of the same here, including some solid action in the back half as the demon threat ramps up. Reception has been fairly middling, though — it sits close to Season 1's score at around 7.1 on MAL, and the writing still leans hard on its harem tropes.
A serviceable continuation for existing fans, but not the season that's going to win over Arifureta's skeptics. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
