As with most recap specials, this one isn't really trying to stand on its own — it's a condensed refresher of Season 1's story, mainly aimed at fans catching up before continuing with the series. There's nothing new here in terms of plot or character development.
If you've already watched the first season, there's honestly not much reason to seek this one out specifically. But as a quick reintroduction to Yotsuya, Shindo, and Hakozaki's brutal survival games, it does the job it's meant to do.
