Synopsis
Aqua and Ruby Hoshino continue chasing their own paths through the entertainment industry — Ruby working to bring B-Komachi back into the spotlight as a true idol group, and Aqua digging deeper into a 2.5D stage play production that may finally lead him to the truth behind his mother Ai's murder.
As the glittering surface of showbiz keeps hiding the same ugly compromises underneath, old rivalries resurface and new faces — like the mysterious actor Sakuya Kamoshida — get pulled into the twins' orbit. The season pushes deeper into the "2.5D Stage Play" and "Private" arcs, following Aqua's slow, calculated descent toward revenge as the line between performance and reality keeps getting blurrier.

Season 2 doubles down on everything that made the first season a phenomenon, and somehow gets even sharper about it. The 2.5D stage play arc gives the whole cast — not just Aqua and Ruby — real room to shine, and Kana Arima in particular gets one of the best character-focused stretches in the entire series.
Doga Kobo's animation is a clear step up in the play performance sequences, and GEMN's opening "Fatal" is one of the strongest theme songs of the year. The story keeps threading that uncomfortable line between the glamor of showbiz and the very real damage it does to the people inside it, without ever feeling preachy about it.
