Synopsis
Sakuta Azusagawa is a high schooler who's grown used to keeping his head down after his family went through some hard times. His quiet routine gets interrupted when he spots a girl dressed as a bunny wandering through a public library, seemingly invisible to everyone else around her.
That girl turns out to be Mai Sakurajima, a famous actress from Sakuta's own school who's been out of the public eye for a while. She's suffering from a mysterious condition dubbed "Puberty Syndrome," a strange, supernatural phenomenon that causes people to slowly stop being noticed or remembered by those around them, tied closely to their private anxieties and insecurities.
As Sakuta gets closer to Mai and helps her work through what's happening to her, he keeps encountering other girls in his life dealing with their own versions of Puberty Syndrome, and the show follows him supporting each of them while his relationship with Mai quietly deepens.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai is a modern classic for a reason. It takes a premise that could easily feel gimmicky, teenagers going invisible because of their insecurities, and turns it into one of the most sincere, emotionally grounded romance stories in anime.
CloverWorks' animation is gorgeous throughout, and Kaito Ishikawa and Asami Seto's chemistry as Sakuta and Mai carries the whole series. Each "Puberty Syndrome" arc manages to say something genuinely thoughtful about growing up, without ever losing its warmth or sense of humor.
Whether you're new to the franchise or revisiting it, this is essential coming-of-age romance anime, and one of the strongest light novel adaptations of its era.
