Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus
Anime Info
Synopsis
Sakuta Azusagawa is starting a new chapter — now a university student in Yokohama, still dating the nationally famous actress Mai Sakurajima, and hoping for a quieter life than the one he had in high school. That hope doesn't last long.
Out of season and out of nowhere, Sakuta spots a girl in a miniskirt Santa outfit who introduces herself as Toko Kirishima — and who, it turns out, only he can see. As rumors spread online about predictive dreams, a mysterious internet singer, and unexplained poltergeist activity, Sakuta finds himself pulled into a fresh wave of Adolescence Syndrome cases, this time on a college campus far from everything familiar.

Our Review
Santa Claus marks the franchise's return to a full TV season after years of movies, and it uses the extra runtime well — the University Student Arc gives Sakuta and Mai's relationship a more grown-up backdrop while still delivering the mystery-of-the-week Adolescence Syndrome formula fans signed up for.
Toko Kirishima, the "Miniskirt Santa" only Sakuta can see, is a genuinely intriguing new hook, and returning cast members Kaede, Nodoka, and Rio slot back in comfortably. At an 8.17 on MAL, it holds up as one of the stronger entries in the whole series.
A satisfying next step for long-time fans, though newcomers should really start from the original TV series and films first. — DIDARUL ISLAM [Chief Editor]
