The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?
Anime Info
Synopsis
Ichinomiya Shingo, an ordinary twenty-five-year-old office worker, falls asleep at his desk and wakes up as Wendelin, the eighth son of an impoverished noble family living in a remote corner of a fantasy kingdom.
As the youngest of eight brothers with little chance of inheriting anything, Wendelin discovers he possesses immense, previously unheard-of magical talent. Rather than remain a burden on his family, he sets out to build his own future using his powers.
Balancing life as an adventurer, magic academy student, and reluctant participant in noble politics, Wendelin navigates a world of dungeons, rival factions, and family expectations, all while trying to carve out an independent life on his own terms.

Our Review
This series follows a fairly standard isekai formula: an overpowered protagonist with a harem-adjacent cast, magic academy life, and light political intrigue. It's watchable but doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the many similar reincarnation stories that came before and after it.
The animation quality is inconsistent, with occasional noticeable CGI, and pacing can feel rushed in the back half as the show tries to compress a large amount of light novel content into a single 12-episode cour. That said, fans of easygoing, low-stakes isekai adventures may still find some enjoyment here.
Recommended primarily for isekai completionists or those specifically looking for a lighthearted, low-commitment watch rather than viewers seeking a standout entry in the genre. — AniSphere Review Team
