HoYoverse Unveils Nodusfall, New Co-Op Action Game Inspired by Global Mythology

HoYoverse has a new game on the way, and this one looks a little different from what fans are used to. Say hello to Nodusfall — a brand-new co-op action game that was revealed at Gamescom 2026's Opening Night Live on August 25, complete with its very first trailer.
A New Kind of World for HoYoverse
If you're picturing something like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, think again. Nodusfall skips the anime art style and goes for a more realistic look instead. The world mixes myths and legends from all over the globe, so you'll spot creatures inspired by Eastern folklore standing right next to classic Western dragons. HoYoverse also says the world will keep growing, with new regions bringing their own cultures, histories, and ecosystems as the game moves forward.
What's the Story?
The setting kicks off after the old divine order has fallen apart. Into that gap comes something called the Dreadnodi — mysterious beings whose corruption is spreading fast, twisting even the world's legendary creatures. That's where players come in. You'll play as a Weaver, someone tied to the divine, whose job is to track the corruption to its source, cut it off, and help bring balance back to the world.
Teamwork Is the Whole Point
Nodusfall is built around co-op play from the ground up. You'll team up with other players to take down huge mythical bosses, and fights are designed to actually reward working together instead of just button-mashing solo. Each character can be customized with different Styles and Skills, so your squad can mix and match builds depending on what role you need and what enemy you're facing.
