Itachi Uchiha - [うちはイタチ] - Naruto Shippuden

Itachi Uchiha is one of the most tragic and complex characters in Naruto. He was a genius ninja from the Uchiha clan who ended up killing almost his entire family — except for his little brother, Sasuke — and was branded a criminal for it.

But the truth turned out to be far more heartbreaking. Itachi didn't do it out of hatred. He made that terrible choice to stop a war and to protect Sasuke, all while staying secretly loyal to his village until his very last breath.

Background

Itachi was the eldest son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha. As a young child, he witnessed the horrors of war, which made him hate fighting and long for peace instead.

He was a true prodigy — top of his class at the ninja academy, graduating years earlier than anyone else his age. His teachers considered him one of the most talented students they'd ever seen.

Appearance

Itachi was tall with fair skin, deep black eyes, and long dark hair tied back in a low ponytail. He closely resembled his brother Sasuke and was known for being very good-looking.

As a member of the Akatsuki, he wore their signature black cloak with red clouds, along with a distinctive ring and a small necklace. Before that, as a village ninja, he wore the Anbu uniform, complete with a weasel-shaped mask.

Personality

At heart, Itachi was calm, thoughtful, and deeply against violence. He carried a heavy burden his whole life but never let it show, always staying composed even in the most painful moments.

His love for Sasuke never wavered. Everything he did — even the choices that made people hate him — was quietly meant to protect his little brother and give him a future.

Abilities

Itachi was one of the most gifted ninjas ever seen in his village. He mastered incredibly advanced techniques at a young age, including powerful Sharingan abilities that let him control fire, create illusions, and summon a protective spectral warrior called Susanoo.
