Laust (ラウスト) – The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows
Raust is the main hero of The Healer Who Was Banished from His Party, Is, In Fact, the Strongest. He's a kind healer with hidden powers that nobody expects. Despite being super powerful, he thinks he's just normal and is shy about himself.
"I will help anyone who needs it, no matter what they have done in the past."
What makes Raust special is his good heart. He helps demons and people alike without judging them. If someone feels sorry for hurting others, Raust forgives them with kindness instead of hate.
Background
Raust grew up in an orphanage where he got the name "Labyrinth Orphan." Two people taught him important skills: Ralma taught him how to use magic, and Ronaldo taught him how to use a sword.
One day, Raust found Narsena crying while being attacked by a dangerous enemy. He wasn't strong enough to beat the attacker outright, but he held them off until the knights arrived. Grateful and inspired, Narsena fell for him on the spot — and later became an adventurer herself.
Wanting to be worthy of her, Raust joined the Blades of Lightning to grow stronger. There he was treated badly — underpaid, overworked, and constantly pushed to the front lines despite being a healer. He endured it all without complaint, quietly growing more powerful while still thinking of himself as ordinary. When he finally broke down, the party kicked him out. Narsena searched for him, left everything behind, and joined him — and the two now adventure together.
What He Looks Like
Raust is a tall guy with short black hair that points downward. His eyes are black, and he has a calm, kind face. He wears a white cloak with white trim over a white shirt and white pants. A big brown belt holds his sword on his right side, and he carries a small brown pouch on his left. His brown boots have gold decorations on top.
When he uses his secret power, his whole body turns dark and black like a shadow. His eyes glow bright red, and a huge red horn grows from his head — making him look like a demon.
Personality
Raust is kind and caring, but also really shy and modest. Even though he's an extremely powerful healer, he thinks he's just average, and nobody would guess how strong he is since he never shows off. Around Narsena, he gets even shyer, and he prefers to take things slowly rather than rush in.
People Who Matter to Him
Ralma — His Teacher
Ralma taught Raust all his magic when he was young. They have a close bond and are good friends. She means a lot to him.
Narsena — His Love Interest
Raust met Narsena when she was in danger and saved her. She fell in love with him right away, and they now travel together as a party — with Raust slowly falling for her too.
Hansam — An Old Friend
Raust met Hansam years ago during a goblin attack. Raust healed him, and they hid together to stay safe. He later recognized Hansam in the guild by a scar they both remembered.
Armia — Former Party Member
Armia was in Raust's old party and treated him badly under harsh rules, but Raust doesn't hold it against her — he knows she feels sorry for what she did.
Margulus — Someone He Helped
Margulus once hurt Raust in the past, but when a dangerous hydra attacked, Raust helped defeat it anyway because his friends asked him to. That's just who Raust is.
What He Can Do
- Healing Magic
- Big Fireball
- Detect Magic
- Body Strengthening
- Incredible Strength
- Amazing Reflexes
- Secret Transformation
Raust's healing power is immense — he can heal repeatedly without tiring, and it only grows stronger the more he casts it in a row. From Ralma, he learned Big Fireball, a powerful fire spell, and he can also sense nearby magic and identify its type with Detect Magic.
Through Body Strengthening, he can push his body past 101% of its limits, giving him raw physical power strong enough to cut off a hydra's head without magic, along with reflexes sharp enough to dodge surprise fireballs.
His Secret Transformation is his most mysterious power — his body turns black, his eyes glow red, and a horn grows from his head. In this form he can defeat an evil dragon without trouble, though nobody knows where the power truly comes from.
His Tools & Weapons
Raust carries a dagger as one of his weapons — simple but useful for a healer who needs to defend himself.
