Momo Ayase [あやせ もも] - Dan Da Dan

Momo Ayase is one of the two main characters in Dandadan. She's a high school girl who is brave, funny, and always ready to help her friends, even when things get scary or weird.

Her story starts when she becomes friends with a classmate named Ken Takakura, who she nicknames "Okarun." He loves ghost stories and strange mysteries. Together they run into real ghosts and aliens, and during one wild fight Momo discovers she has special powers of her own.

From that day on, Momo and Okarun team up to face all kinds of supernatural trouble together, and their friendship only grows stronger with every adventure.

Appearance

Momo has medium-length auburn hair and pretty reddish-brown eyes. A lot of people, including Okarun, think she's really pretty.

Her school uniform is a white blouse with a light pink sweater, a loosely tied red ribbon, a navy skirt, white socks, and brown shoes. She also likes wearing round green earrings and a black choker with a green charm — these are kind of her signature look.

Personality

Momo is bold and confident. She's not scared of much, and she speaks her mind — especially when her friends do something silly. But when she realizes she overreacted, she's quick to say sorry too.

Even though she can seem tough on the outside, Momo is actually really kind. She cares a lot about the people close to her and always tries to protect them from harm or unfair treatment.

She doesn't like liars, and she'll keep her distance from people who cross her boundaries. But she can still understand others — even people who've done bad things — if she learns their story.

No matter how tough a fight gets, Momo never gives up. She's also smart and quick-thinking, which has saved her friends more than once. On top of all that, she's not shy about being playful or a little sneaky when she needs to talk someone into something.

Background

Momo was raised by her grandmother, Seiko Ayase, who is a well-known spirit medium. As a kid, Momo had to do a daily good-luck ritual in public, and other kids made fun of her for it — including her childhood friend Jiji.

At first, Momo felt upset with her grandmother because of all the teasing. But as she got older, she understood that people were really making fun of her grandmother's unusual lifestyle, not Momo herself. This helped her let go of the resentment and grow closer to her grandmother instead.

Abilities and Powers

After her first battle with Turbo Granny, Momo wakes up strong psychic powers. She's new to fighting at first, but she picks it up fast.

She's tough, she thinks fast in battle, and her instincts help her sense danger before it happens. Using her powers too much does wear her out though, so she has to be careful not to push herself past her limit.
